Metcalf Crump, FAIA | Chairman and CEO

With over 48 years as a founding owner of his firm, Mr. Crump has served as the Principal Architect in Charge of a broad range of governmental, educational, corporate, healthcare, private and non-profit institutional projects. Many of those projects are listed among the firm’s various design awards. Some of his most recognized work includes his designs for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis International Airport, Rhodes College, University of Memphis, Memphis University School, St. Mary’s Episcopal School, Lausanne Collegiate School and the Catholic Diocese of Memphis.

In recognition of his award-winning designs, his professional contributions to the American Institute of Architects and his civic contributions in the Memphis community, Mr. Crump was advanced to membership in the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in 1994.

David Hoback | President

As a founder and co-owner of The Crump Firm, Inc., Mr. Hoback has served as the Principal in Charge of a broad range of projects for corporate and governmental clients, including the expansion to the Center Concourse ‘B’ and ‘Y’ Intersection at Memphis International Airport and the relocation of Smith & Nephew National Headquarters. His experience also includes the design of over 120 FedEx projects and facilities throughout the United States, the design of a prototype call center program for FedEx and the relocation of 15 office facilities in the Southern Region for Digital Equipment Corporation.

In addition to his duties as principal in charge of the design of corporate and administrative facilities, Mr. Hoback leads the firm’s interior designers and space planners on all the firm’s designs of corporate and administrative facilities and tenant office buildings.

Walt Reed, AIA | Vice President - Architecture, Principal

Now in his 32nd year at The Crump Firm, Mr. Reed has served as the Project Manager or Project Architect on projects involving new buildings, master planning, space planning and interior design. In his role as Vice President of Architecture, he leads the day to day activities of the architectural design staff.

Walt’s primary areas of experience are in educational, governmental, corporate, healthcare and other large projects. Walt has been responsible for managing the design effort of many large projects, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s new Kay Research and Care Center and the Marlo Thomas Center for Global Education and Collaboration, as well as the Smith & Nephew Orthopaedic HQ Relocation renovation and build-out. He also served as Project Architect for design and as Program Manager for the $242 million Tennessee Air National Guard Base at Memphis International Airport.


Ré John Lartigue

Mr. Lartigue has served as project architect on a broad range of projects since joining The Crump Firm, Inc. in 1994. His twenty-four years of experience includes serving as project architect in charge of numerous educational, governmental, corporate and institutional projects. His particular area of expertise includes the preparation of accurate design development and construction documents, leading teams of project managers and CAD draftsman, and sustainable design. Mr. Lartigue is the LEED AP Architect for several of the firm’s projects: Triad Centre III, TnANG Base Civil Engineering Building, the Residence Hall at Southern Nazarene University and a FedEx City Van Station in Yuma, AZ. His LEED experience also includes the S-9 Vehicle Maintenance Building for the US Navy in Millington, TN which was designed to meet LEED Silver. Ré John worked with Metcalf Crump in serving MLGW with predesign, planning and programing for the previously proposed MLGW Transformer and Paint Shop Building (2000-2001).


Virginia Norman, IIDA | Vice President - Interior Design, Principal

As the Vice President of Interior Design, Ms. Norman oversees the entire interior design staff along with managing the quality and overall design of the firm’s interior projects. Ms. Norman’s 25 years of experience in Interior Design at The Crump Firm, Inc. includes programming, space planning, budgeting for FF&E, developing art programs, selecting finishes, preparing construction documents, cost estimating, project management, move coordination, facilities management and developing signage packages for a broad range of corporate, educational and medical clients.


Jennifer Campbell | Senior Interior Desinger

Jennifer is a Tennessee Licensed Interior Design Project Manager and has been with the Crump Firm for the past 11 years. Jennifer designs and coordinates a wide variety of corporate, law firm, hospitality, medical, and educational interior design projects. She has provided a full range of services including space planning, programming, construction documents, finish and furniture selection, artwork selection, construction administration, and move coordination.



Scott Hatley | Senior Project Manager

Over the past thirty-one years with The Crump Firm, Mr. Hatley has led the production of AutoCAD and Revit design and construction documents on projects involving new buildings, master planning, space planning and interior design. Some of his most notable projects include ALSAC, Chi Omega Foundation Corporate Headquarters. International Places Towers III and VI, and Saint Louis Catholic Church Expansion.


Sue Madden | Chief Financial Officer

Now in her 30th year, Ms. Madden serves as the Chief Financial Officer and general office manager.
